About

A clinician grounded in evidence-based practice

My name is Farhan Ali. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate providing clinical mental health services across the lifespan, from adolescents presenting with academic, behavioral, and identity concerns to adults managing anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, and life transitions.

My practice is built on a culturally competent clinical framework. Assessment and treatment planning account for each client's cultural background, faith, and lived experience, because these factors shape how symptoms present and which interventions are effective. Treatment is evidence-based, goal-directed, and regularly reviewed in clinical supervision.

I have over 7 years of experience in youth mentorship and community building where I have been an active leader, mentor, and supporter for ages 11–25. I also specialize in helping Muslim clients navigate their multi-faceted struggles in relation to their faith and beyond.

Clinical supervision includes regular review of my caseload, guidance on treatment planning, and ongoing consultation on clinical decision-making — ensuring every client receives thoughtful, well-supported care. In all case consultation, I uphold the honor and dignity of my clients by withholding identifying details that could expose or compromise their privacy.

Healing alongside others

Group therapy offers something individual sessions can't: the experience of being understood by people working through similar questions alongside you. Each group follows an intentional structure built around a specific theme, combining clinical insight with genuine community — a space to be witnessed, challenged, and supported.

Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance. However, I offer a sliding scale fee based on income and need, and I can provide a superbill — an itemized receipt you can submit directly to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Please reach out to discuss rates and what might work for your situation.
What does the first session look like?
The first session is an intake — a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you in, your background, what you're hoping to work on, and any relevant history. There's no pressure to share everything at once. By the end, we'll talk about what therapy might look like going forward and whether I'm the right fit for you.
Do you offer telehealth or in-person sessions?
Both. Telehealth sessions are available to anyone located in Texas — you just need a private space and a reliable internet connection. In-person sessions are available at Healing Grounds Counseling in Allen, TX (945 Stockton Dr #7120). Many clients prefer telehealth for the convenience, while others value the in-person connection. We can discuss what works best for you.
How long does therapy typically take?
It depends on your goals and what you're working through. Some clients find that 8–12 sessions addresses a specific concern. Others benefit from longer-term support as they work through deeper patterns. We'll set goals together and regularly check in on your progress so that therapy stays purposeful and doesn't go longer than it needs to.
Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. What you share in sessions is confidential, with a few legally required exceptions — such as if there is an imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, or if a child is at risk. I'll review confidentiality limits with you fully in the first session so you know exactly where you stand before we begin.
Do you work with teenagers?
Yes — I work with adolescents aged 12 and older. For minors, parental or guardian consent is required before we begin. I'll also discuss with both you and your teen how we'll handle communication between parent and therapist, so your teen has a safe space while you stay appropriately informed.
